The Problem
There are many issues facing the foster care system in America.
Overcrowding and lack of resources: Foster care systems are often overwhelmed and underfunded, leading to overcrowded homes and a lack of resources for children in care.
Lack of stability and continuity: Children in foster care often experience a lack of stability and continuity in their lives, as they may be moved from one foster home to another or from one school to another.
Trauma and emotional harm: Many children in foster care have experienced trauma and emotional harm, and may have difficulty forming attachments and trusting others.
Difficulty in transitioning to adulthood: Many young adults who age out of the foster care system have difficulty transitioning to adulthood, as they often lack the support and resources they need to succeed.
Institutional Racism: There is an over representation of children from ethnic minorities in the foster care system.
Limited Access to Mental Health Services: Children in foster care often have high rates of mental health disorders, but may not have access to the appropriate mental health services they need to address these issues.
Limited Access to Educational Services: Children in foster care may experience disruptions to their education, which can lead to poor academic performance, and may also face difficulty in accessing special education services and other educational resources.
Our Solution
Infinite-Connections is a dual factor digital application/software that is designed to help children in the foster care system to stay connected and maintain safe forever connections. Our vision is for Infinite Connections to be the go-to digital space within the foster care system where kids have access to tools, resources, emergency services and a supportive community.
Each child that uses the application will have access to their family history, their life story, and be able to report issues directly to their case manager. They will also be able to access emergency services with the click of a button.
The foster care agency software provides a uniformed portal where all foster care agencies across the Unites States and its territories will have a streamlined way to provide services to children. The platform will serve to reduce gaps in care, reduce delays in services, while providing reliability and consistency of services.
When a child enters their first foster care placement, their information is populated by the receiving agency. This includes personal information, parents information, school information, medical information and placement history. If the child is relocated, the information remain in their portal to be accessed by their new placement agency. This will reduce errors and prevent the child from losing bits and pieces of their lives as they move through through the foster care system.
The agencies will also be importing the resources to ensure accuracy of these resources. When a child reports an issue using the app, the case manager received an alert in real time with the details of the issue and the level of urgency.
Kids in foster care deserve have the love, safety, and connections md infinite connections is a step in that direction
