WHAT IS IT
We are product designers and engineers and, therefore, we usually play around with small parts assemblies, electronic circuits, test rigs, and jobs alike. We are also fond to build scale models and mockups.
Many times we find ourselves missing a "third hand" to hold that transistor we are welding, that piece we are painting, that small bolt we had to tighten and so on.
Finally, one day we came up with this idea we have named FixÓ!:
FixÓ is an innovative third-hand tool, re-designed from scratch to improve your welding, repairing and model making in a more comfortable and reliable way.
It is robust and flexible, very easy to handle and precisely holds your pieces in position (with no rebound or hysteresis effect) while you work on them.
Now we want all of you, DIY fans, to benefit from this really handy tool. Help us making it real!

WHAT WE NEED![]()
This is the Deal:
You help us bringing this cool tool to real life and we will let you participate and benefit from the success in various advantageous ways: check up in the Perks section what you get if you support us.
Every €/$ you contribute with will be spent to acquire the manufacturing and assembly tooling.
We need 20.000€ for the following:
1. Injection mold for the small base: 5.500€
2. Injection mold for the large base: 6.000€
3. Injection mold for the transparent cover: 6.500€
4. Injection mold for the rubber anti-slip bottom-cover: 2.000€
Total: 20.000€
All other parts don´t requiere any specific tooling and we will purchase them off the shelf from the best suppliers. Assembly will also be done manually by one of our reliable and longstanding supplier-partners.
WHERE ARE WE NOW (PROJECT STATUS)
As you can see in the pictures and videos here, fixÓ currently exists as a series of fully working prototypes, obtained from temporary moulds and custom-made tailoring. We have already identified our manufacturing industrial partners, and we are ready to start the actual production of this object. It just depends on you to make it real!
We´ll keep you informed of our progress, and of course every feedback with suggestions, recommendations or new ideas to improve it and make the user experience even better will be welcome.
WHEN WILL IT BE AVAILABLE (PROJECT TIMELINE)
This is the way we plan to go about it:
1. Mid-June: Campaign is online: we will be paying attention at all your comments and feedback and we´ll try to implement any feasible improvement while keeping you up to date.
2. End of July (after 6 weeks Indiegogo campaign): wrap-up and Go-NoGo decision.
3. Aug-Sept: Tooling manufacturing, off-the-shelf parts purchasing, ...
4. Oct: first samples assembly and testing, eventual corrections/changes,
5. Nov 2014: first shipments to early-adopters
6. Dec-2014: regular shipments to all other supporters.
7. 2015: regular sale in online and retail shops. Development of fixÓ 2.0 with new features.
