We are Audio Vision SF, a small but nationally and internationally known
hifi shop in the heart of San Francisco. Our landlord has recently given us notice that they will be re-claiming their
space to use for their current facilities.
Antonio Long and Randolph Johnson (who recently, after taking the Star Wars Character Quiz, discovered that he is R2D2) have been in business for 15 years
and at this current location for 11 years, navigating the ups and downs of the San Francisco economy. We are best friends of 28 years, starting and playing in several bands
together while chasing our love of music thru the years.
Running a hifi shop is by no means a get rich proposition, it is a labor of
love and every contribution, no matter how small, will make sure that Audio Vision SF stays in San Francisco and continues to bring the joy of music to our patrons.
BIG NEWS ! We have found a space and will be relocating to 1628 California Street! That's only 1.5 blocks away! It is an empty shell..So now we need your support to build out this space to better serve you in the future.
What We Need & What You Get
We have a goal of $50,000, every penny of which will go to the relocation and interior construction of our new home in SF. And if we don't reach our goal, the funds received will still go to our relocation fund, NOTHING goes into our pockets!
We also have at least a dozen audio manufacturers who are contributing some really exciting products to our effort.
The Impact
As many of you know, hifi shops are not located on every corner.
Retail (brick & motor) stores are an essential and declining part of experiencing
something as personal as choosing a hifi system. Deciding on a music playback system, or a new part
to add to your current system, is like deciding on a favorite beer or wine. The majority taste good, but only a few will have that distinctive flavor
that you prefer. You can’t hear what a particular pair of speakers sounds like on line, nor can you tell how that pair of speakers sounds with a
particular amplifier or source. These are things that you need to figure out for yourself and
to do that, you need a place with the expertise to guide you on your journey and the
product selection to make sure that you arrive at your destination. With your help, our decades old shop can continue to help people enjoy the music.
