I started knitting in the fall of 2012. Shortly after, I learned how to crochet, but it was after a head injury on Christmas Eve 2012 that I discovered that someone could dye and spin her own yarn.
Living in Greece, without another single soul in the whole country to fall back on, , I decided to experiment and learn by doing by myself. I soon discovered my love for color and experimentation . During 2013, fibers/dyes/books flew in from all over the world, so I could more carefully understand what I was reading in blogs and on Youtube. And I succeeded: I learned how to dye fibers and textiles using acid, food coloring and natural dyes by turning my kitchen into a chemistry lab. I even had an old-fashioned spinning wheel , shipped to Greece l and master I soon mastered it.

The name “TréLiz” has a double meaning. First, as I am half French and half Greek it speaks to my identity. “Trés Liz” means in French “very Liz-Like” and in the Greek it is a combination of the words “Treli” and “Liz” which combine the words for “crazy” and my name. Why insane? Because I am crazy for COLOR, and I love how different fibers take up the dyes differently, and every skein comes out UNIQUE.

I've focused TréLiz on specializing in very luxurious hand dyed yarn and fibers―not only because I wanted to give something of the best quality, but also because I wanted to give to the Greek fiber community something it lacked. I am searching for very special wool blends in special hand dyed colorways.
TréLiz is currently still based in my kitchen in Athens, Greece. I have finally made an official website for it, www.treliz.eu. It has sold yarns and fibers worldwide and has started to get some small recognition in Greece.

I am trying to make small packages of yarns, clubs, offers so people can afford my yarns. I intend to even work with designers to bigger projects.
My inspiration can come from anywhere: nature, books, films. I would love to extend my work: by fulfilling wholesale requests, on wholesale inquiries, working on more design ideas, organizing more eclectic collections, writing blog posts and marketing. .

As the family has to relocate to a Cycladic Island in Greece this would be the perfect time to go independent and gain a fresh start. It is time to break free, find more space and more equipment.
Here is breakdown of what your contributions will provide:
SPACE: TréLiz is at maximum capacity in its current 400 sq. ft. studio and must relocate. €2500 has been allocated for the deposit in securing a larger space and to help with moving costs.
SHOWS: Trade shows are a wonderful way of bringing TréLiz to a larger audience as well as connecting with customers new and old. Shows, however, are also very expensive. In addition to registration which must be paid up front, all show stock must be purchased months in advance (€2500)
