Help us recharge the Electric Cycle Company
In our 10 years at our store on Granton Road, we have seen our turnover increase over 500% and our staff go from 2 to 10 at present with a bigger electric bike range than anyone else. This is something I could never have imagined when my family started the business from the back of my Dad's builder's office in 2006.
We've always been at the forefront of the eBike business since we started, reinvesting all our profits back into the business to have the biggest selection of demo eBikes anywhere in Scotland to provide our customers at the forefront of the eBike revolution.
We have managed to secure a lease on a 4000 sq foot premises about half a mile from our current store (which we will be turning into an eBike centric social enterprise). This will let us create the largest eBike showroom in the UK. As part of the development, we want to make this showroom, carbon-neutral, harvesting solar power and heating the premises using the waste we produce.
We want to save you money with your eBike and we want to leverage future services and sales to help us create this space.

With your help, we can turn this into an amazing space to begin or continue your eBike journey in a more comfortable, spacious and safer environment (our current store is a bit small for adequate social distancing for more than 2 or 3 customers at a time).
What's in it for you? (and us)
Let us tell you...
- We have designed a range of perks that will save you money in the real world.
- We're not looking for free handouts. These perks offer value for your much-appreciated contribution.
- With your help, we believe we will be able to make our store as close to carbon-neutral as possible while creating an amazing new retail experience.
- We will have a bigger, more diverse range of eBikes than anyone else, giving you, our valued customer real choice.
- We will be free of manufacturers' input so able to give you our unbiased honest opinion.
The Impact
We don't want to be another faceless bike shop, we could have moved to bigger cheaper premises away from where we are now but we really like being part of our local community.
- With your financial support, as well as the fantastic perks we will be able to afford to give all our customers added value with things like extended guarantees, free security marking and free updates.
- We can keep up our work giving back to the North Edinburgh Community and supporting local charities.
- We will be able to donate most of the workshop tools and non eBike specific tools to the social enterprise we have planned for our existing premises.
- We will create a retail experience that is as carbon neutral as possible.

Risks & Challenges
This is going to be hard work but our team is committed and a few of us have construction experience and are a bit handy with a paintbrush! We also have a couple of customers lined up to help with plumbing, electrics and carpentry.
It should take us around 6 weeks to turn around and we should get keys in the next week so we need to hit the ground running.
Our only issue is our suppliers being able to keep up with the demand for eBikes that we're experiencing right now.
Other Ways You Can Help
We fully understand that some people just can't contribute given the current climate but that doesn't mean you can't help us (we'd really appreciate this).
- Tell your friends and colleagues that might be considering an eBike about our campaign and make some noise about the Electric Cycle Companies plans.
- Use the Indiegogo share tools below to spread the word!
Thanks very much for taking the time to read this and consider giving us your hard-earned cash.
Hopefully we'll be able to welcome you all to our new home soon (The kettle or coffee machine will always be on instore)
