Who is Just a Dash?
My name is Stephanie and I started Just a Dash in 2015 with a focus on Cakes and Dessert Tables for Weddings and Special Occasions.
At the beginning of the Covid pandemic, my husband was furloughed from his job and all of my booked events were cancelled. We knew we needed to pivot with the changing times so we started creating meals and charcuterie boxes. We pivoted our butts off and have grown a very successful program that lead to leasing and setting up a commercial kitchen.
Three years have gone by and we have been working so incredibly hard. It is time to come out of the phase of the business that was designed to survive covid and the changing times. The demand for our food has outgrown the current set-up and isn't maintainable with the current structure.
Our new plan is so incredibly exciting and a little bit terrifying! We will be leasing the space a couple doors down in the same building in addition to the current one. This will allow us to transition the current kitchen into a daily storefront. Our catering equipment and other supplies will move into the second space and the rest of the space will become an affordable rental venue for small parties, workshops, business pop ups, and meetings. This location will also allow us to offer our own pop up dinners and high teas.
To start we plan on being open to the public Monday- Friday for grab and go lunch, charcuterie, and meals to reheat at home. We will have a selection of sandwiches, soups, salads, drinks and treats for your lunch time and then meals, sauces, salads, and sides for meals at home. Some stuff will come frozen like cinnamon rolls, meatballs, lasagnas, and breakfast burritos while others will be fresh. The menu will continue to rotate like our current Food in a Frenzy events, just on a smaller scale.
Once we get staffing locked down, we will begin offering catering again for the weekends and other special events.
The event space will be a modern space available to rent by the hour for up to 25 people. Packages will be available to add on snacks and drinks or you can bring your own.
How you can help-
What we need- we have a bunch of equipment that the store front will need as well as services like plumbing, electric, and signage. The meeting space needs a bunch of renovations and furniture.
