I’m Alex McKinnon the Founder of Kinn. My background is in Product Development, Design, Marketing, and General Management for Braun, Gillette, Bell Sports, Sara Lee, and other brands. Then we found our true passion when we adopted our two third-chance rescue dogs Skye and Erin, and realized we could make pets healthier and happier. That’s why our team founded Kinn almost five years ago. We developed the Kleanbowl in collaboration with veterinarians here in California. How the Money Will be Spent

The Kinn team needs $10,000 to bring the new 32oz. Kleanbowl to retail.

Here is where we will carefully invest your generous donations:

• Create a retail in-store presence with merchandising support, i.e. show displays and brochures
• Sales Force Expansion including additional sales reps and support materials

If we do not reach our goal, the funds that we do raise will be carefully invested as follows:

Our Kleanbowl Challenge proves Kleanbowl is The Healthier Pet Bowl, as dogs and cats using their sniffers actually prefer to drink and eat from a Kleanbowl vs. their ordinary bowl or water fountain, guaranteed. To date, we’ve served over 600,000 bowls of cleaner water and healthier meals, and have won three industry awards.



The Kleanbowl is also better for planet earth versus washing bowls. Sterling Sustainability Consulting with the Pet Sustainability Coalition did a cradle to grave environmental impact study in 2016. Recycling Kleanbowl Nourish-Pet Refills, vs. washing bowls, reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 43%, electricity usage by 32%, and water usage by 21%. Risks & Challenges

The pet care product categories are very competitive. To be successful in gaining large scale retail distribution, and winning valuable shelf space, we will need a strong merchandising presence and success stories demonstrating the product sells through.

Kinn’s team has decades of pet industry experience and connections. Over the past 2 years, we have already achieved 300% sales growth with weekly re-orders and significant improvements in retail turns at a national retailer with the original 8, 16, and 24oz. sizes, an amazing success story.

We have recently gained new retail distribution in the Western United States, including support from multiple distributors. We have also completed the design and small initial production run of a complete assortment of retail displays, signage, and literature, and placed these merchandising tools in a select group of retailers in the region. We’ve recently engaged a successful sales representation firm on the West Coast, and increased our sales rep presence from 1 to 5 people, with more on the way. Our investments in bringing the new 32oz. to retail are also strengthening the relationships with our supply chain as we become more important to the key suppliers. Our plan is to continue to build on these strengths and the momentum of these initial successes.
