Our Story

As San Francisco rents have skyrocketed, long time mom and pop shops have closed their doors, working class families have been pushed out of our barrios, and everyday workers have had first-hand experiences of exploitation. 

We are eight talented and passionate immigrant leaders that have come out of these struggles to build a community-inspired worker owned catering and restaurant cooperative.  Our group's decision to pool our talents came fresh from late-night action team meetings, weekend skill shares, collective sharing of recipes and food traditions, and organizing alongside PODER (People Organizing to Demand Environmental & Economic Rights).

We are Enrique, Maria, Leny, Juan, Rosy, Alex, Max, and Sofia.  Through sheer passion, collective organizing and community will, we are emerging from the hardship and economic struggle to help create an economy in the hands of the people.

Together we have created a powerful vision that builds community, creates neighborhood assets, preserves traditions, puts decision making power in the hands of local residents, and serves as an inspiration to immigrant-led movements fighting displacement in their working class barrios.

What We Need & What You Get

Coop members are investing our heart and soul into making this dream a reality, but creating a community-inspired and worker-run enterprise requires a lot of start up costs.  So here is why we are asking for your support.

We are fundraising $6,000 for working capital to sustain the coop in its first few months. The money raised will pay for site renovations, permits, start up costs, and supporting members while cooking, developing an enterprise, and governing together.  Your support will help sustain our coop in these critical first few months and plants the seeds to strengthen immigrant-led coop movements across the Bay and beyond!
