Hi,
My name is Rob Hunt, I’m the founder and president of MobiCard USA INC. I get asked why I started MobiCard, well to answer this I’ll need to tell you a little bit about how I grew up.
When I was 12 my father broke his neck, as you can imagine, it had quite the impact on our family finances. To say the least, we all had to pitch in. I really liked being in sports, but it took money to be in sports, particularly when it came to equipment. This is where the Duct Tape comes into play!
Duct Tape is truly “the handyman’s secret weapon”! We used Duct Tape to repair, improvise, and create equipment for sports. When it came to my “Old Pair of Shoes”, Duct Tape was used to wrap around them to keep them together, smooth out the tread, and make it possible for me to wrestle. I could have very well ended up on the streets, or could have turned to crime, and drugs… Sports, and Duct Tape won!
I started collage, got married, and started my first business when I was 19. Fast forwarding to now, I have been a businessman for over 25 years. During my carrier I have been in Retail, Service, and Marketing, along with being an inventor holding a major patent, and working on others.
Smartphones came into the picture! In 2013 I was sitting in my office thinking about what I wanted to do, regarding future ideas, and projects. I’ve always wanted to make a difference in the lives of others, so I began working on a way for low income kids to be able to generate income, and “pay it forward” to the next generations to come… This is where MobiCard was born!
In creating MobiCard, I wanted everyone to win! With my business, and marketing background, I knew what businesses needed to succeed, and thought that if I can create a win for Businesses, a win for fundraisers, a win for consumers, and a win for the community…. It would be a huge success!
We now have the balance for everyone! In January of 2016, I thought, why just limit this to kids? Why don’t we let everyone participate?
