Why Continue to Fund?
You may be asking yourself, why should I continue to fund? Here are a few reasons:
-
More Impact: We can donate larger sums to our beneficiary organizations that serve the local HIV community.
-
Best Value: Tickets are at their lowest-ever price so make sure to get the best value by getting your tickets here through Indiegogo.
-
More Events: More resources means more events than just Red Dress Party San Diego, which in turn increases overall impact in the local community.
Background on Red Dress Parties
You may have heard of Red Dress Parties in other cities such as Portland, Sacramento and Chicago, and each shares the same goal: to raise awareness and funds for local organizations that support the local HIV/AIDS communities.
We've often thought that this joyous yet impactful event should be brought to San Diego, and with your help, it very well could.

Our Mission
Although there have been huge strides in HIV prevention and treatment efforts, a great need still exists for testing, counseling, and care.
-
Nationally, the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) estimates there are currently 1.2 million people living with HIV/AIDS in the US, with 50K new HIV infections each year;
-
California as a state has the second largest population of people living with HIV/AIDS in the U.S.;
-
And right here in San Diego County, ours is the 3rd largest county in California affected by HIV/AIDS.
Our mission is simple: to raise awareness and funds for organizations that support the San Diego HIV/AIDS community.
We need you to make this dream a reality. We’re investing our time and money to make this worthwhile event happen, but we need people who share our passion to help bring this event to life.
The goal of this campaign is to raise $10,000. If we can reach this goal, San Diego's first Red Dress Party is a go! We have a great location (not the typical weekend hangout) and entertainment lined up for a September event. The venue, exact date and entertainment will be revealed as soon as we achieve our goal.
Update: Red Dress Party San Diego 2015 will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the San Diego Museum of Man.
More than just a fun party, this is a fundraiser. We’ve been talking to many local non-profit organizations who are excited to be part of this. Since we want to make sure the money we raise will have a tangible impact in San Diego, we are taking our time selecting the right organizations to benefit from this event.
Again, if we exceed our goal, we will be able to donate even more to our beneficiaries, further increasing the impact of this event.

Our Qualifications
We are masters at event planning, with a team that has, combined, over 40 years of event management experience. We have run events large and small, from corporate retreats to intimate weddings.
We have experience with non-profit management, some of us being formally educated in running a non-profit, others having worked or volunteered for similar organizations. We understand the ins and outs of running a non-profit.
We have business resources covered, from marketing to website development to accountancy, we have a handful of professionals across business disciplines volunteering their time and services to our cause.
We have a strong and loyal network of supporters, be them spouses, close friends, or family members (hi mom!), we have no doubt that there are friends out there who will help make this dream a reality.
Our Challenges
If we do not reach the goal of $10,000, we cannot guarantee the event will happen -- but we will attempt to source alternative funding like local business sponsors and investors.
Our team has already spent our own money starting a non-profit corporation plus invested countless hours and effort setting up everything else to go along with it, so failure is not an option for us at this point.
We are confident we can do this together. After all, this event is for our community. It's for you.
