Who We Are
The Big Bean Theory (BBT) is the fabulous creation of Chef Eula McDowell! Chef Eula has been serving up her beanilicious meals and Savory Soups for over 15 years through catering, local Farmers' Markets, and the Owings Mills Mall Food Court.
The BBT is thrilled to be opening in June 2014 (Grand Opening in November) at a new, full-service location near the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland! It will be a dine-in, 40 seat, full-service restaurant & catering operation. The BBT will also offer children's cooking classes!
Chef Eula has put her heart & soul into her business and her dream of
making The BBT a reality. It is important to Chef Eula to offer healthier food choices to her community and all visitors.
Chef Eula prepares bean-based meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, like your traditional favorites with a twist, such as Veggie Lasagna, Jerk Chicken, Salmon Cakes, Pan-Seared Fish, Fresh Sautéed Collards & Kale, Hummus, a variety of Bean Soups, Black-Eyed Pea Caviar, Savory Spreads, Teas, Chia Coffees, Lentil Loaves, Rice Puddings, Bread Puddings, Bean Pot Pies, Bean Burgers, Bean Sauces, Fried Fish with Garbanzo Bean Flours, Turkey Legs, Macaroni & Cheese & so much more.

The Big Bean Theory is on a mission to spread the word and to make it's customers happy and healthy!
The Background Story
Eula McDowell has been serving up her beanilicious meals and Savory Soups for over 15 years through catering, local Farmers' Markets and the Owings Mills Mall Food Court.
The BBT has been involved with local charities: Healthcare for the Homeless Chocolate Affair, Empty Bowls Baltimore and Meals on Wheels.
Chef Eula is a graduate of Women Entrepreneurs of Baltimore (W.E.B.), Inc. and has been featured on WBAL-TV Channel 11's Morning Brunch, Channel 2 News with Jamie Costello, The Baltimore Times, Owings Mills Times and the Sunday Sun.

Our biggest asset is Chef Eula, who is experienced, creative, motivated and driven to succeed!
The BBT is planning to open in June 2014 and already owns the following equipment:

1 Sandwich Station * 1 Double Grill * 2 Deep Fryers * 1 Stock Pot Stove
1-12 Burner Stove with 2-Door Oven * 4 Stainless Steel Prep Tables
4 Shelving Racks * Pots, Pans and Trays * Assorted Herbs & Spices
Coffees & Teas * Inventory of Beans, Bean Flours, Spices, Herbs, Oils, etc.
Why You're So Important To Us
Your generous funding will allow The BBT to open on-time in a beautiful, fully renovated space. We will be able to distribute our awesome Perks, hire and train additional staff, establish a Marketing and Advertisement campaign, acquire a Point of Sale (POS) System, purchase additional equipment, inventory, supplies, tables and chairs.
Your funding will also allow Chef Eula to resume donating her time to cook and serve at an area Homeless Shelter at least once a month.
Even if we don't reach our goal, we won't let you down! We will still open our doors and you'll be able to stop by and enjoy the same wonderful foods, but we'll need to make necessary upgrades over time.
Over $5000 - We will be able purchase Food Supplies and a Point of Sale (POS) System to keep track of inventory and sales.
Over $10,000 - We will also be able to do more marketing and advertising, purchase additional Equipment (Soup Kettles, Food Processors, Kitchen Utensils & Cookware)!
Over $15,000 - We will also be able to hire and train additional staff and purchase tables & chairs!
Over $20,000 - We will also be able to donate time and food to various local charities!
Over $25,000 - We would like to purchase a catering/delivery van to bring our delicious meals to our wonderful customers!

Reisterstown Farmers' Market on Sundays (May - October) 10am - 1pm
University of Maryland on Green Street on Tuesdays (May - November) 10am - 2pm
Owings Mills Metro Farmers' Market on Fridays (May - October) 4pm -7pm
