Short Summary
Hi! I'm Chris Ross and I'm building Macomb County's first axe-throwing range, Total Axe. Axe-throwing has become increasingly popular lately and I want to bring this new sport to Clinton Township. I have nearly 10 years experience throwing axes and teaching others to throw. I want to make this activity more accessible, fun, innovative and safe for everyone involved. Total Axe will offer new games, new targets and a more dynamic experience.
About Total Axe
Total Axe is an indoor axe throwing facility. We have leased a 3,000 square-foot facility in Clinton Township. Doors will open by November 1 and the booking page is already open to reserve your party. During your 2-hour reservation, axe coaches will teach everyone about safety, teach everyone how to throw an axe, then facilitate a tournament for bragging rights!
League nights are available Sunday-Thursday. Each league runs 8 weeks, culminating in a championship tournament. During the first 7 weeks, each player will get to warm up, then play 4 matches against other participants.
We don't serve food, but you are allowed to bring your own. You can even have catering brought in for your event.
Safety
At Total Axe, safety is the primary goal. For this reason, you must be over 18 to enter (with closed-toe shoes) and we do not serve alcohol. Anyone who appears intoxicated or acts in an unsafe manner will be asked to leave.
What We Need & What You Get
All of the funding received will be put to use in the facility. We are building a batting-cage layout so that each thrower is enclosed by fencing, isolating axes from spectators as well as other participants to make the experience as safe as possible.
We need some additional funding for seating for spectators. Depending on your support, we would like to add other throwing games like darts and cornhole. Beyond that, additional supplies will be used to design new targets for games like Tic-Tac-Toe, Cricket, other dart games, and Sequence.
Small donations will receive a t-shirt or gift card on opening day. Larger donations will receive their donation plus a bonus as a gift card on opening day.
The Impact
Total Axe wants to bring this game to as many people as possible. We plan to be open six days a week, offering leagues four of those nights. We will offer team-building events tailored specifically to your group. When there is open space, walk-in throwing will be available to everyone over 18. Our goal is to offer more fun and more safety at a lower cost than other facilities.
