Confirmed Music Acts So Far...
Music Curation: Our music programming will bring established and emerging acts from the Bay Area and beyond. Each month will showcase a different theme showcasing world-class Filipino and Non-Filipino artists.

Lyrics Born: Best known for his radio hit "Callin’ Out," Lyrics Born got his start as part of the original Solesides / Quannum label comprised of Bay Area hip-hop creatives most notably Dj Shadow, Blackalicious, and LA Dj/producer Cut Chemist.
Dj Cutso: Dj/Producer Cutso is an original member of the award-winning Bangerz crew which started in the South Bay. Both as DJs and solo artists, the Bangerz produced albums which became the scores for the JABBAWOCKEEZ Las Vegas show. His party rockin’ antics include a not to be missed nunchuck solo. Cutso will be sharing the stage w/ Lyrics Born.
Dj Umami: As a rotating DJ for the Golden State Warriors and a founding member of the all-female DJ collective Peaches Crew, DJ Umami's versatility has her opening for diverse acts such as Just Blaze, Tuxedo, Chromeo, Talib Kweli, Tokimonsta, Holy Ghost, and more.
Low Leaf: In Los Angeles's underground beat scene of the late 2000s, few have managed to strike as unique a chord as Low Leaf, a female producer, singer and songwriter who combines harp, guitar, and piano with electronic beats.

UNDISCOVERED is produced by Kultivate Labs, a non-profit that believes that the involvement of the community and the preservation of its culture is essential to the long-term success of any commercial ecosystem.
A Little SOMA History
San Francisco's South of Market Area was known for its rich cultural diversity. It is the home to one of California's largest Filipino/a communities. On April 19, 2016 San Francisco's Board of Supervisors unanimously passed legislation zoning out a large area of land in San Francisco's SOMA (South of Market) neighborhood encompassing a wide variety of buildings, parks, and community service groups that have served the Filipino community for decades
Today, SOMA is home to sky rises, tech companies, and new condos. Unfortunately, development without community consciousness is turning the neighborhood into a sea of sameness and displacing the people that turned an industrial wasteland into a vibrant neighborhood to raise a family and live the American Dream for all.
UNDISCOVERED is one of the ways we are looking help the residents of the SOMA Pilipinas District and protect San Francisco's greatest asset - Diversity.
UNDISCOVERED is part of a broader innovative plan to build a vibrant new commercial corridor in the cultural district, strengthen fledgling entrepreneurs, and create new workforce opportunities for SOMA residents. Every dollar pledged to this campaign generates $5.00 in economic activity. We make UNDISCOVERED free for everyone to encourage more economic activity.

Risks & Challenges
We've been planning this event for nearly a year and assembled an A-team of professional event producers, music & retail curators, marketers, and community stakeholders to bring the event to this point. The City of San Francisco and Mayor Ed Lee have graciously given us $130,000 in grants to seed the project and give it a solid financial foundation. We're turning to you for the last $65,000 to make this event a success and FREE and low cost to our vendors.
In the event we don't raise the $65,000 we are seeking, we will scale back the event in terms of the caliber and number of artists we book, the operating hours, the number of rooms we program in the Old Mint, and the overall production to match our budget capacity. We will also look at ways to charge a nominal door cover and increase booth fees to our vendors (we really don't want to do this).
Event Budget
In the tradition of transparency, below is our annual event budget. To start UNDSCVRD there are ~$27,000 in upfront equipment purchases (tents, a/v, decor, etc). Our 1st event will cost $61,000. Every month it costs about $34,000 to produce an UNDSCVRD night market. Outside of our grants and a successful crowdfunding campaign, our other source of revenue are booth fees & revenue share with our vendors, door donations, and corporate sponsorships.
