With
minimal worry, less work, and more control over the fermentation
process, Vessi™ Fermentor lets you go from pitching the yeast to pouring your beer
in as little as 7 days.*
Reduce key risks that make good beer go bad, with a
tank that’s sealed, pressurized, and temperature-controlled for the optimal environment to craft great-tasting beer time and time again.
Brew Day is Fun. Fermentation Isn’t.
Every
home-brewer knows Brew Day is the best part of brewing your own beer. But then comes
fermentation and bottling. Which means you’ve got, at best, 4 weeks worth of work ahead of
you including bottling. Days spent lifting, sanitizing, siphoning, conditioning, worrying, and waiting. Meanwhile, the process presents risks like contamination, oxidation, and sub-optimal temps that could turn your craft beer into crap beer. That is, until Vessi™ Fermentor.
Welcome to Fermentopia.
Go from 4 weeks of worry and work, to a mere 7 days* with minimal effort – all
while exerting more control over the entire fermentation and finishing process.
Speed
Vessi™ Fermentor stays pressurized the entire time, so that what's inside stays carbonated. Which means no need to bottle condition or force carbonate your beer, cutting
days out of your timeline. Plus, the heating and cooling system helps reach an optimal fermentation and finishing environment faster.
Ease
Once the wort's in the tank, there’s no more transferring. In fact, no
siphoning, lifting, or jackets, either. Everything you need is in one,
convenient tank, with everything on hand to rule the fermentation and finishing process.
Confidence
Vessi™ Fermentor helps you reduce key risks that make good beer
go bad, in a more controlled environment. Precise temperature and pressure
control, and a construction that's designed to minimize exposure to light and oxygen, keeping your batch safe. Which, when it's all said and done means a better
beer.

How it Works
![]()
1. Transfer Wort, Pitch YeastWith Vessi
™ Fermentor, you'll start by transferring your cooled wort into the sanitized tank. Once you’ve checked the specific gravity and pitched your yeast, attach the pressure lid. Now you’re ready to set the specific pressure and temperature to ensure optimal conditions for fermentation. Then, sit back and relax while the yeast does its thing. If your beer requires secondary fermentation, it’s time to go for round two. If not, on to the dispensing.

2. Clear Sediment
Once the yeast is finished fermenting, you can clear the sediment from the bottom of the tank using the Sediment Removal System, which transfers sediment out of the tank without opening the unit or depressurizing. This is also a good time to add any aromas or flavors using the Liquid Injection System - designed to force your additions into the tank, while minimizing exposure to light and oxygen.

3. Dispense - Pour, Bottle, or Keg
Your beer is ready! For instant gratification, pour straight from the tap. To share with friends and family (or quickly ferment another batch), transfer to bottles or a keg using the bottling and kegging ports. Once they’re filled, they’re ready to drink (no bottle conditioning or keg carbonation required).

Our Story
We like to
say that Vessi™ Fermentor started in the garage. Of course, in our case, The Garage was home to what is now W Labs™ - a small, nimble division of Whirlpool Corporation that brings innovative ideas to
life. But in fact, Vessi™ Fermentor started even smaller. Before it reached The Garage,
the fermentor and dispenser was a bright idea in the minds of a small team of Whirlpool employees, who believed they had something brilliant for the home-brewing market. They saw
the difficulty of fermentation, the long wait for good, home-brewed beer, and believed there had to be a better way. Our job at W Labs™? Make it happen.
Since then, we’ve been researching, testing, designing, and more, in
order to make the best version of the original idea possible. Now, we couldn’t
be more excited to send our idea – fully realized – out into the world.
Our Team

Bob was destined to help make Vessi™ Fermentor a reality. He started
following beer at a young age, when he read about the re-opening of Anchor Brewing
Co. He moved to Michigan in the late ‘80s, when craft beer was becoming a revolution. A plan to become a pro brewer culminated in a position as Head
Brewer at a Michigan brewpub. These days, he's still an active homebrewer and member of two homebrewing clubs. Could you imagine a better fit for W Labs™ Brewmaster? Neither could we.

As the Director at W Labs™, Bryan feeds the entrepreneurial spirit
of the Vessi™ Fermentor team, while leveraging the existing capabilities of the many
talented individuals at W Labs™. Which means much of the time, he’s leading the way and
removing barriers so the team can move at light speed. A man of many talents and experiences, Bryan once lived in Italy for three years with his family,
and enjoys a wide range of hobbies – such as biking, golfing, cooking, and guitar (tack
on brewing to that list!).

Marketing Lead doesn't say enough about what Noel brings to the table. She also functions as Sales Lead and PR Rep, as she helps bring innovation to the market. Fun facts: March is her favorite month (she's a college basketball fanatic), her grandma is her best friend, and she prefers to eat dessert first. Her favorite pastime? Having a Founder’s All Day IPA while enjoying
the Michigan summer.

Mike combines 20 years as an engineer with even more years as a beer fan to help develop a product that meets his standards for both. He'll happily geek out with you over the cooling/heating system design, Failure Mode Effect Analyses, and pressure vessel testing, especially if it's at a happy hour. After work, he's an avid runner, even if it's just teaming up with his wife and chasing after their two-year old.

As the Tech Lead, Ryan has the unique opportunity to
design, engineer, and test a top-notch fermentor on a daily basis. When he's not on the sidelines coaching his two boys at sporting events, he’s most likely
enjoying an IPA from a Midwestern brewery (his current favorite – Bell’s Two
Hearted). A novice homebrewer in the past, Ryan’s now brewed countless batches
of delicious beer, which he credits to his work on Vessi™ Fermentor.

Phill helps break necks and cause double takes. Well, sort of. His experience in the digital world, and connections to the media realm, help the Vessi™ Fermentor team move fast and create great content. A former Division 1 offensive lineman, Phill’s swapped his love for football with a passion for creativity, technology, and storytelling. His love for brewing comes from enjoying the local pints in Kalamazoo during college. A good tale was never told over a soda.

Without the original team of Whirlpool employees that came up with the proposal for
a beer-making appliance – Tony Gates, Nick Koukourakis, Bridget Battistone,
Anthony Mills, Bob Schneider, Jeff Williams, and Martin Blanc – Vessi™ Fermentor would
never have happened. We’re glad it did!
FAQs
Does Vessi™ Fermentor brew as well?
No. Vessi™ Fermentor helps you master fermentation, carbonation, and dispensing. In other
words, everything after brewing.
Is it just for beer?
No! The Vessi™ unit can ferment & carbonate other things. In fact, we did a Syrah wine.
How well does it control temperature?
Vessi™ Fermentor keeps contents plus or minus two degrees Fahrenheit within the temperature you set. The unit utilizes a true compressor-based refrigeration system and has a built-in heating element, this isn't a wort chiller or glycol sleeve.
Can you Lager?
Yes! You can drop or raise the temperature at any time during the fermentation process using the integrated temperature controls, perfect for lagering.
How do I sanitize it?
Vessi™ Fermentor works with standard, homebrewing equipment sanitization products.
How big is the Vessi™ Fermentor?
About the size of a kegerator - counter height, counter depth, and 24 inches wide.
Can I put in my garage?
Yes, depending on your garage. Vessi™ Fermentor is designed to function (i.e. ferment and dispense) in ambient environments that are between 90 and 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
How much does it weigh?
About 150 pounds.
Is "brewing" different than "fermentation"? Isn't it all brewing?
We're glad you asked! Yes, they are different, and the two main parts of creating beer. Brewing the beer, also called brew day, is the process of creating the wort. Wort, simply put, is beer that hasn't fermented yet, so it contains no alcohol. Fermentation is the process of adding yeast to the wort in order to create alcohol.
Can I dry hop?
Yes, you can dry hop in one of two ways:
You can use a liquid extract or extract the oils from the hops via a French Press or the like. Pour into the liquid injections system, and insert via the three-way valve on the control panel.
- De-pressurize the unit by pulling the stem on the adjustable pressure relief valve. When the pressure reaches "0" on the pressure gauge, remove the lid and insert hops through the opening. Reseal the lid and send pressure through the liquid injection system to stir the fermented liquid and bring pressure back to the desired level.
Can I get a refund?
Indiegogo will refund your money until the close of the campaign.
How does the Sediment Removal System (SRS) work?
Our patent-pending SRS works by collecting, then releasing, small amounts of sediment at a time. The SRS collects about 7 ounces of whatever is in the bottom of the tank. During fermentation, that's the sediment. Turning the SRS handle forces the collected sediment out of the tank without releasing pressure. To remove all of the sediment, continue turning the handle until you get clear beer without the sediment. Because it releases only small amounts at a time, you don't risk pouring out significant amounts of beer along with the sediment.
Does Vessi™ Fermentor have a C02 system?
Yes! Vessi™ Fermentor uses a standard 5lb C02 tank to pressurize the unit at any time using the three-way valve on the control panel. This system is most commonly used during the dosing process (turning the valve to the right), after dry hopping and to maintain pressure for serving.
