e benvenuti! Mi chiamo David Cinnella e sono un aspirante cineasta italo-americano.
Ho studiato cinque anni alla Academy of Art University di San Francisco, in
California, conseguendo una laurea in Regia e Sceneggiatura. Al momento, divido
la mia vita tra Los Angeles e la mia città natale, Matera.
Hello to all, and
welcome! My name is David Cinnella, I’m an Italian-American filmmaker who
graduated after five years at the Academy of Art University of San Francisco,
CA, and I move back and forth between Los Angeles, CA, and Matera in Italy.
Nell'estate
2015, io ed un gruppo di circa 40 giovani talenti della 149 Pictures e Voce
Spettacolo abbiamo creato la prima webserie italiana sui viaggi nel tempo, dal
titolo “While” (ecco il link al primo episodio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8gDORZUxYU),
e dopo il suo successo abbiamo deciso di allargare gli orizzonti e lavorare ad
un nuovo progetto.
In Summer 2015, me and
a group of around 40 young filmmakers from 149 Pictures and Voce
Spettacolo created the first Italian webseries about to time travel,
called “While” (you can view the first few episodes here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8gDORZUxYU)
, and after its success, we’ve decided to expand our horizons and work on a
brand new project.
L'obiettivo
che ci siamo prefissi nella creazione di questo corto è di riproporre il buon
vecchio spaghetti western affiancandolo al genere innovativo e creativo per
eccellenza, la fantascienza, e per farlo avremo fonti di ispirazione che vanno
dai classici di Sergio Leone e Sergio Corbucci, ai più moderni omaggi come Django
Unchained, passando per anime come Cowboy Bebop e Trigun, e
varianti esotiche come Sukiyaki Western Django.
Our purpose for this
short film is to bring back the good old classic taste of the spaghetti
western, mixed with the innovative, creative and action-packed sci-fi genre,
with heavy inspirations from Sergio Leone and Sergio Corbucci's classic films,
to the more modern homages like Django Unchained, all the way to anime’s such
as Cowboy Bebop and, especially, Trigun, and
exotic homages such as Sukiyaki Western Django.

Con il vostro

regione dell'Italia meridionale, la Basilicata, con le sue suggestive bellezze
e dimostrando che il cinema italiano non è morto, anzi vivo e vegeto, pronto al
suo grande ritorno.

make this become a reality, and show the value and quality of our work and
promote the region of Basilicata, in Southern Italy, and all of its glorious
beauties, as well as prove that Italian filmmaking isn’t dead, but well alive,
and on the rise once again.

Finora, tutte
le persone coinvolte nel progetto ci lavorano gratis, per puro
amore del cinema, ma purtroppo rimane un grosso ostacolo da superare: gli
effetti speciali. Non sarebbe davvero fantascienza senza un minimo di effetti,
non siete d'accordo? Per questo motivo, tutto il denaro raccolto grazie alla
campagna sarà messo da parte ed utilizzato esclusivamente per essi.
Thus far, everyone
involved in the project is working for free for the love of the film, and there
is only one major obstacle in the way. The special effects. It wouldn’t be
worth its sci-fi element without them, now would it? Because of that,
everything in the campaign will be kept aside exclusively for those.
Comunque, se
la cifra raccolta dovesse eccedere le nostre aspettative, saremo lieti di
ripagare tutte le persone del duro lavoro sul set, rendendo l'esperienza ancora
più gratificante.
Should the amount be
enough, however, then we will happily be able to pay all of the hard working
people on set and make this journey all the more worthwhile.
Sia la
featurette che il teaser sono stati girati pochi giorni dopo l'ok al progetto
della 149 Productions e Voce Spettacolo (in un singolo giorno, nonostante
facesse molto freddo e fossimo ammalati, per il progetto questo ed altro!), e
dovrebbero darvi un'idea abbastanza chiara di cosa abbiamo in serbo per voi.
This featurette, and
especially this teaser, were shot just a few days after we at the 149
Productions and Voce Spettacolo decided to make this in the first place (in a
single day and in spite of a really cold weather and poor health conditions,
we're THAT dedicated!), and it should give you a decent idea of what’s in store
for all of you.
Ciononostante,
una cosa è certa. Tutto, in Tek, sarà pregno di atmosfera western, rinnovando
ancora una volta un genere attempato ma duro a morire, come i suoi eroi.
Regardless of that,
one thing is for certain. Everything, in TEK, will absolutely drip of the
western genre and setting that's tough to kill, just like its heroes!
