About us...
We are the owners of Viridian Art Academy,
Bronwyn Birk & Maria Galloway.

We are both visual art instructors in local elementary schools. As public schools struggle with cutbacks, art programs are often targeted even though studies have shown time and time again that participation in creative activities increases critical thinking and problem solving skills. We were inspired to create a community art school. We teach art classes for children, teen and adults, and art workshops & camps. Our instructors are made up of several local artists who provide their unique perspective in our weekly classes. In addition to teaching hundreds each week, we are preparing a non-profit foundation to provide visual art programs and art supplies for schools with out the necessary funding.
Since our creation in 2011 we have quickly become a thriving part of our community. We have outgrown our current studio in which we have filled every inch. We jumped at a fantastic opportunity to move down the street to a larger building on February 1st.

In our new location we will be able to employ additional local artists to teach classes and specialized workshops, we will have a separate teen & adult studio space and offer open studio time for artists in our community to create in a social setting. We will be able to expand our curriculum to offer classes in acrylic, clay and toddler & pre-k art classes. We will have social art events for students and the community. Help us become the community art center the west valley is lacking. Your contribution will help to make this a reality.
Why we need your help...
We are planning to move without interrupting our students art education, which means we have four weeks to furnish 2 new studio spaces for teens, adults, and kids. We also want to hire new teachers before the move so they are trained and ready to start teaching as soon as our new facility is opened.
Viridian Art Academy has set the goal of raising $8,500. With these funds we will allocate $5,000 to cover the necessary equipment for our new teen & adult studio space and little kids studio space (easles, art benches, tables, lighting, stools), 2 exterior signs for our building and moving expenses. $3,500 will be used for training and curriculum development for 2 local artists to teach weekly classes. Any extra funds will be directly donated to our non-profit, Viridian Arts Foundation, (401(c)(3) pending), to provide visual art programs for schools without the supplies and necessary funding.
What you get...
We have created some great perks for our contributors. If you can not contribute financially at this time, you may know others that can. Please, please share this by email or social media sites, like Facebook and instagram. Ask your family and friends to help. The more people that hear about this the closer we will get to our goal. You can also help by leaving a comment on this page, which helps boost our ranking on Indiegogo's pages.
